Instructions for Eero Pro Setup
Introduction
Eero Pro system is a flexible system that allows you to use an Eero router or multiple beacons. The entire Eero Pro setup process is performed with the Eero app. The Smartphone app walks you through every step and helps you find the right locations to place your Eero router and beacons.
Eero Pro Setup Instructions
Downloading the Eero App
● Make sure your mobile device has a cellular data connection.
● Navigate to the App Store or Play Store.
● Search for the Eero App and press Get or Install.
Installing the Eero Pro
● Firstly, unplug the modem and your old router from power.
● Next, remove the Ethernet cable from the WAN port of the old router and connect it to the Ethernet port on the gateway Eero device.
● And, connect the second end of the Ethernet cable to the modem.
● Afterward, connect the Eero Pro to the power using the provided power cord.
● Then connect your modem to power as well.
● Next, the LED on the Eero device flashes blue, indicating the initial setup is completed.
Logging into the Eero app
● Now, launch the Eero app and select Create Account.
● Enter the requested information like your email id and phone number. Press Next.
● Next, Eero will send a verification code to the email you provided in the previous step.
● Enter the verification code to verify your Eero login account and press Next.
● From the Gateway setup screen, you would have to select the device you’re installing.
● Tap on the Eero Pro and then press Next.
● The next screen will show you the things you need to set up your gateway.
● Finally, tap on the Start button and follow the prompts on the screen.
Creating the Eero network
● Allow the device to access your mobile device’s bluetooth and tap on OK.
● The Eero app will automatically start looking for your Eero Pro.
● Next, you would be asked to set the location for your gateway so you can identify it later.
● After that, name the device and set a password to create your network.
● You can use these Wi-Fi credentials to connect your devices to your Wi-Fi.
● If you have multiple Eero Pros and would like to create a mesh network, then add them to your existing network.
● Otherwise, select ‘I’m all Set’.
● Next, tap on the Got it and the app will automatically load the main menu.
● Congratulations! You have successfully finished the Eero setup process.
Why can’t I set up my Eero Pro?
You can try a couple of quick tricks to fix the Eero pro setup issues:
● Firstly, make sure your Smartphone’s Bluetooth is enabled.
● Next, power cycle your Eero Pro device. Simply, unplug it from power, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in.
● Power cycle your modem as well. Unplug the modem, wait for 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
● If you have a modem/router combo, put it into bridge mode.
● Verify if your internet connection is working fine. Simply, plug your computer device directly into the modem and access Wi-Fi.
